The first telephone was invented at the end of 19th century by Alexander Graham Bell. But many people beofre him was trying to invent something like that. they were Innocenzo Manzetti, Charles Grafton Page, Johann Philipp Reis and many many others. But Alexander Bell was the first who patented it in 1876. All these inventors wanted to help people to stay in touch (for many reasons) with each other. Many people couldn't believe that the telephone would become popular. but nowadays there were a total of nearly 6 billion mobile and fixed-line subscribers worldwide.
