For me, friendship is one of those kind of relationships when you can trust that man or even woman with your deepest secrets and who knows, one day with your life too. In the armed forces you can probably find that very soon. In our average and sometimes boring civilian lives it's not that often a life or death question but a true friend never stands by until the situation becomes that serious. A true friend never leaves you alone and you don't have to tell him wants wrong because he/she knows before you even think of saying anything. A true friend never stabs in your back. A few years ago some of my so called "friends" taught me a lesson, one that I'll never forget. You know, friendship becomes very complicated when one of you has a girlfriend or even more than a girlfriend. The optimal situation would be the one when you have one both or you risk of losing yours in a very short notice. Trust is a thing which never be taken lightly, if you keep in mind the damage of losing it may cause. Losing trust means you've lost the connection what made you friends at all and this is something what can never be undone. As I used to say, I may forgive but never forget.
